Michigan Michigan NCA CASI offers workshops and conferences that focus on helping accredited schools, districts and ISD/ESA (Intermediate School Districts/Educational Service Agencies) advance their continuous improvement efforts and prepare for accreditation. State Board-Continuing Education Units (SB-CEUs) are available for all Michigan NCA CASI professional development activities (pending approval). Certain workshops and conferences are also eligible for college/university credit.

Producing great results in student performance requires high performing systems at every level of operation in a district. This workshop is designed to help districts: align improvement efforts throughout the district; make sound decisions based on data; and increase the efficiency of operations that lead to improved student performance. This workshop also focuses on systems thinking, process management, and the capacities necessary to create high performing districts.

In QAR training, participants will learn about the purpose and potential of leading accreditation organization AdvancED. Participants will explore the three pillars of accreditation: high standards, continuous improvement, and quality assurance. They will be introduced to the benefits of accreditation and the scope of services and resources available to accredited schools and systems. Specifically, this training consists of 4 modules over a two-day period of time to prepare you to serve as a QAR Team Chair. The training focuses on the following goals:
After completion of the four (4) modules, you will be considered a nationally certified chair and would be eligible and expected to chair a visit in any of the 30 AdvancED (NCA CASI and SACS CASI) states; though our primary interest is in having you chair QAR visits for Michigan schools.

The Twelfth Annual Summer Leadership Academy is a great opportunity for school and district teams to make an extraordinary impact on school improvement progress towards greater student success and organizational effectiveness!
No matter where you are in the accreditation process the Summer Leadership Academy provides relevant resources facilitated by NCA representatives, and includes guidance designed to support research-based strategies, skills for implementation, and techniques to document and analyze results. Mini workshops that deal with various areas of school improvement will also be available.
District Accreditation - There will be special workshops and planning sessions during the Summer Leadership Academy for school and district level leadership. We will feature educators from districts who have received their District Accreditation to help guide new districts through the process!
The Academy is designed for three to five member school improvement teams. The evenings are left free to further group work, discuss hot topics in education and engage in relaxing activities at the Grand Traverse Resort.
